For material requirements planning, it is possible to split the period requirements into smaller periods. For example, monthly forecast values can be split into weekly or daily quantities. You set the splitting indicators in the material master record in the Splitting indicator field. If you have selected a daily split, the system distributes the forecast requirement, which has been reduced by the actual consumption values, over the remaining workdays in the month. The requirements split is identical for both the consumption-based planning procedure and the MRP procedure.
