By entering a minimum period, you determined a time limit for the minimum validity period of the planning calendar. If the time limit is exceeded then new periods must be calculated.
The system stores the planning calendars that are no longer valid in a list and displays them for processing.
Proceed as follows:
- Starting from the Material Requirements Planning menu screen, select Master data ® Planning calendar ® Change periods.
- Enter the plant for which you want to update the planning calendars that are no longer valid.
- Select Cal. no longer valid.
- Select all the calendars that you want to maintain and select Continue.
The initial screen for planning calendar maintenance now appears.
You now receive a list of all the calendars whose validity period has exceeded the minimum period.
The maintenance screen of the planning calendar that you selected first on the list now appears. All the change options described above are available here; that is, you can also change the periodicity, if necessary, or you can manually reprocess individual periods.
Defining New Procurement Dates
To determine new procurement dates and periods, proceed as follows:
- Select, Edit ® Change calcul. rule.
- Select the new calculation rule.
- Press Continue.
- Enter the start date of the period calculation in the Calculation start date field.
- Enter the required periodicity.
- Press ENTER.
- The pop-up window "New Dates" now appears.
- The start date that you entered in the previous screen is displayed in the field Valid from (it may possibly have been shifted to a valid workday). You can change the date here, if necessary.
- Press Continue.
- You then receive the display of the calculated periods.
- If you do not want to carry out any further changes, save your entries.
You can choose between the following calculation rules:
– Weeks (week days)
The period is one week. One period stretches from a certain day of the week to another day of the week which you must specify.
– Months (week days)
The period is one month. You define the period start or the period end by entering a weekday and how often it is to be repeated (for example, every second Wednesday).
– Months (workdays)
The period is one month. You can specify the workday/workdays of the planning calendar according to the workdays defined in the factory calendar.
– Year (workdays)
The period is one year. You can specify the workday/workdays of the planning calendar according to the workdays defined in the factory calendar.
– Workdays
For this calculation rule, you enter the start date and then the periodicity.
– Week days
The calculation rule is specified by defining the week period and also the day of the week (for example, every second Wednesday).
In the screen area "Calculation rule for period specification", the the system asks you to specify the parameters of the corresponding calculation rule.
In the Valid to field, the time period that results from the minimum period, is displayed. Here, you enter the date up until which the system is to calculate the periods.
Creating New Periods Manually
- To create individual periods, select, Goto ® Periods.
- Position the cursor on the line in which you want to create a new period and press, Insert.
- In the selected line and in the following line, the From date and the To date become ready for input.
- Enter a new period-end and a new period start.
- In the line to the right of the periods, a short message or a course of action for the changes are displayed.
The period display screen now appears.
Changing Existing Periods Manually
- To change existing periods, select Goto ® Periods.
- Overwrite the From date and the To date.
The period display screen now appears.
After pressing ENTER , a message or a course of action is displayed for the changes in the line to the right of the periods.
Deleting Individual Periods
- To delete existing periods, select Goto ® Periods.
- Position the cursor on the line that you want ot delete and select, Delete entry.
- The corresponding period is deleted.
- Save your entries with Planning calendar ® Save.
The period display screen now appears.
If you selected several calendars in the overview, the system now automatically displays the next planning calendar that you selected.
