Creation Indicator for Purchase Requisitions MRP Planning

With the creation indicator , which only refers to materials that are procured externally, you can control which of the following is to be created:

  • planned orders only
  • purchase requisitions only
  • purchase requisitions within the opening period and planned orders outside the opening period

The opening period is the time interval between the planning date and a certain date in the future. You can adjust the opening period in Customizing.

In single-item planning, the creation indicator you enter specifies whether purchase requisitions or planned orders are created.

In total planning, the creation indicator only functions as a default value as your system can be set so that the creation indicator is determined by means of the MRP group. If this is the case, it is still possible to enter a creation indicator during total planning, but the materials will be planned with the creation indicator determined by the MRP group. If the system does not find a creation indicator by means of the MRP group, then it uses the creation indicator that you entered.
